Editorial letter; is a kind of business letter that we use for various purposes. But today we will learn it for the purpose of our upcoming examination. In that case both Madhyamik and Higher Secondary have this kind of letter in their English syllabus.

How to write an Editorial Letter?

Today in this article we will discuss the process of writing a letter that is called the editorial letter. Letter to Editor comes into the category of Business letter. We all know that there are two types of letters that we often write. This should be terse and to the point.

In all kinds of letters there are six points of from to be attended to, the should be like these, mentioned below-

1. The Heading: Consists of the writer’s address and the date of the day when the letter is written.
2. The courteous Greetings or Salutation.
3. The Communication of message; The body of the letter. That we write to express our thoughts in the whole letter; mainly the purpose of writing the letter.
4. The Subscription or courteous leave-taking or conclusion.
5. The signature that is placed at the bottom of the letter.
6. The Superscription on the envelope.

I Shall be highly obliged if you kindly allow me to express my thoughts through the columns of your esteemed daily. My concern about the Bad Effect of plastic carry Bags on the environment.

It is well known that plastic is non biodegradable and cannot be recycled. These bags chock the sewage system that causes water logging not only during monsoon but throughout the years in some areas. Piled used plastics turns the soil toxic. Added to this, it hinders the rain water from seeping into underground to increase the water table. The government, abiding by the order of supreme court, has banned the use of plastic carry bags under specific units of thickness. But the commoners hardly pay any attention to these orders.

The need of the time is a frequent awareness programme to make the people conscious of the hazards lying before us. It is also important to make the people compelled to use jute or cotton bags instead of the plastic carry bags by strict implementation of the rule. Every conscious citizen should come forward to make the regulations fruitful and effective for the future generation, otherwise we will give our coming generation a bleak and unsafe future.
