A Film I Have Recently Seen
Recently I Enjoyed an old classic Bengali movie named, ‘Saptapadi’ based on the story written by great Bengali writer Tara Sankar Bandyopadhyay. The movie was shown on T.V on the birth anniversary of legendary actress Suchitra Sen. The film revolves round the romance of Krishnendu and Rina brown since their college days and their ultimate marriage. The movie is marked by some wonderful piece of acting by greatest Bengali film pair Uttam Kumar and Suchitra Sen, who were at their very best in the movie.
Unique photography was an added attraction of the film. Another important aspect of the movie has been the wonderful voices of the first pair of Bengali background singers – Hemantha Mukhopadhyay and Sandhya Mukhopadhyay. This has given the film a different dimension to the movie. It is needless to say; I was tremendously forward to watching it whenever an opportunity is the offing more about to say about the film. I enjoyed The Movie a lot and I would suggest all the people to watch the movie once, if possible, to know the importance of Bengali cinema.

কিছুদিন আগে আমি মহান বাঙালি লেখক তারাশঙ্কর বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের লেখা গল্পের ওপর ভিত্তি করে বানানো সপ্তপদী নামের পুরনো বাংলা সিনেমাটি দেখেছি। এই সিনেমাটি বাংলার জনপ্রিয় অভিনেত্রী সুচিত্রা সেনের জন্ম বার্ষিকীতে টিভিতে দেখানো হয়েছিল। পুরো সিনেমাটিতে কৃষ্ণেন্দু এবং রিনা ব্রাউনের কলেজ জীবনের প্রেম থেকে বিবাহ পর্যন্ত ঘটনাগুলোকে তুলে ধরা হয়েছে। এই সিনেমাটিতে অভিনয় করেছেন বাংলার তখনকার জনপ্রিয় জুতি উত্তম কুমার এবং সুচিত্রা সেন, যারা তাদের অভিনয় দ্বারা চরিত্রগুলিকে চমৎকার ভাবে ফুটিয়ে তুলেছেন।
সিনেমাটির আরেকটি অন্যতম বৈশিষ্ঠ ছিল এর অন্যতম চমৎকার ফটোগ্রাফি। সিনেমাটির গুরুত্বপূর্ণ আরেকটি দিক ছিল বাংলা ব্যাকগ্রাউন্ড গায়কদের প্রথম জুটি – হেমন্ত মুখোপাধ্যায় এবং সন্ধ্যা মুখোপাধ্যায়ের দুর্দান্ত কণ্ঠ যা সিনেমাটিকে একটি ভিন্ন মাত্রা দান করেছে। বলাই বাহুল্য; যখনই ছবিটি সম্পর্কে আরও বলার সুযোগ আসে তখনই আমি এটি দেখার জন্য অত্যন্ত উদগ্রীব হয়ে উঠি। আমি মুভিটি অনেক উপভোগ করেছি এবং আমি সবাইকে বাংলা সিনেমার গুরুত্ব জানার জন্য সম্ভব হলে একবার মুভিটি দেখার পরামর্শ দেব।
